The 2007 Banks and Brokers Golf Championship Grand Final took place on Friday 10th August at the prestigious 5-star Grove Golf Club just outside
Watford in Hertfordshire.
Congratulations go to Barclays Capital who were victorious on the day by the narrow margin of only 1 point. In extremely hot conditions Barclays Capital managed to score a superb stableford score of 90 points. The Canary Wharf based team included Simon Griffin (team captain), Pierre Moffat, Nicholas Fletcher and Jonathan Howard. Team captain Simon Griffin also won the longest drive competition and received a magnum of champagne for his tremendous shot.
Barclays Capital were presented with the Banks & Brokers Championship trophy, plus the amazing prize of a golf holiday to the 5-star Gloria Golf Resort in Turkey, courtesy of Your Golf Travel.com.
Tullet Prebon were runners-up with a total points score of 89 with Coutts & Co in third place with 84 points. Paul Johnson from Coutts & Co was the winner of the Nearest the Pin competition and received a case of wine for his efforts.
Over £2000 was raised for Oxfam with the Charity Raffle. Jose Martinez from title sponsor MF Global won a fantastic raffle prize of a week's holiday for two to South Africa courtesy of Your Golf Travel.com
